"CW Mundy in His Studio" was painted side by side with my long time mentor and friend, master painter CW Mundy. As we painted, CW was sharing with me his approach to painting on a dark canvas with only a palette knife. This idea was born months earlier when I called CW and asked if I could paint his portrait. As a long time mentor of mine, I felt it was something I was being called to do, but wasn't entirely sure why. He agreed and a few weeks later I visited his studio to find a composition and paint his portrait. The resulting painting was nice, not show stopping, and after it was done CW shared his ideas for how I could approach another like it, working on a dark canvas. The idea to paint it together as CW taught me was born, and it was CW's idea to film the whole process to share with the world. You can watch us make our individual paintings side by side in "Uncovering the Methods of the Masters" at www.broadcastingbrushers.com/store.
